Four days of celebration including cultural/religious ceremony, sport, music, food and family, and the one time each year the whole Central Valley Hmong community is in one place. Everything else on this page runs around it.

Entrance Gate Open at 8:00am, Markets Open, Hmong New Year Ribbon Cutting Ceremony & Parade, New Year's Eve party (Dec 31st, 2026 from 6:00–11:00pm), Miss & Mrs Pageants Contest, Dances Contest, Ball Tossing (Pov Pob), Hmong Talent Performances, Farewell Parade, Closing at Sundown on 3 January.

Dates confirmed for the 2027 Big Fresno Hmong New Year
The festival returns to the Fresno Fairgrounds from Thursday 31 December through Sunday 3 January. Vendor registration runs 1–30 August for existing vendors and 1–30 September for new ones.

What happens at a gathering
The shape is much the same whether it is four days or one afternoon.
A flag ceremony and a procession to open. Performances and games through the middle of the day. Food from the marketplace, and a closing that sends everyone home before dark.
